Getting to know Mrs. Childs~

Family

I was blessed to have over 26 years with my husband Duane who passed away in November of 2019. I love to spend time with my daughter, son, daughter-in-law, family, friends, and my pets.

Education and Experience

Before moving to Hill City, I taught upper elementary/middle school grades for about 13 years at Faith Christian School in Foreston, MN. (At least half of those years were fifth and sixth grade, so this feels like a great fit!) For the past three years I have helped students with reading, math, and educational therapy at Great Minds Learning Center in Grand Rapids. I have a bachelor’s degree in secondary education for chemistry and physics; along with training in NILD (National Institute for Learning Development) educational therapy.

Interests and Hobbies

I enjoy reading, playing games and cards, working in the garden and on projects around the house. I also am thankful to have a small group Bible study that helps keep me focused on Christ and His place in my life
